The Scariest Blog I've Written In a While...
Updated: Aug 11, 2019
Last week I attended the AMAZING Spaghetti Agency Content Writing workshop in Warwick, UK.
I went with the mindset that I would probably know a lot of the stuff as I'm lucky enough to work alongside Jo and Todd on a daily basis. Boy, was I wrong. I don't think i've ever taken so many notes down in a workshop. EVER!
So, why is this blog so important and scary? Well, firstly, because Jo and Todd will probably see it and will know if I was listening during the workshop and secondly, because I really want to do them justice. I shouldn't be this nervous about writing a blog, I've written for Yahoo and opened my writing up to be judged by the world, but it means something else when your Yoda is a friend.
In my blog 'Learn from your clients', this was one of the things I spoke about. Ensuring we learn from the experts that we are fortunate enough to work with, for, or alongside.

I'm a bit of a know it all but am always open to improving what I know and learning new stuff. Jo literally blew my mind with what she taught me. I just thought content was about writing a blog, sending it out on social and hoping that someone reads it. It really is so much more than that. When you get to the bare bones of why content is so important and the different levels you need to look at before you even put pen to paper. Or should that be finger to keyboard?
We looked at audiences, USPs, What you want from the content, finding out what your readers/clients needs and offering solutions, Feature vs Benefits, about the word 'because' and why it's so very important and that was just the first half of the morning.
I had literally missed so many 'small' things that it turned out I was missing quite a big chunk of information that the general public and my clients needed to see on my website, content, and social media platforms. I was oblivious and thought I was doing a good job.
Luckily, I made the trip to Warwick and now I know what I need to do going forward. It'll take a little while and lot of tweaks but I know i now have the tools to not only help me and my business with content but also my clients too.
This is a BIG win.
Thank you to Jo and Todd of Spaghetti Agency for such a thought provoking, eye-opening day.
