The Story
Ok, let's start with the elephant in the room. Or in this case, a hippo.
If you've read my blog about personality types you probably already understand but if not, here's what it's all about...
I'm a Hippo
If you think about a hippo in the wild they seem like lazy creatures.
They plod along and try not to get sun burnt. They do what needs to be done. But have you seen a hippo when they are on a mission? Those bad boys can reach speeds of up to 30km per hour! They are head down, charging forward and not stopping until their mission is complete.
That's how I feel when a client gives me a job to do. I'll find the easiest and quickest way to get the job done, and i'll charge forward until everything is done and dusted. Then I'll make a cuppa , and go back to avoiding the sun.
The Colour Purple.
There are 2 main reasons behind the colour.
Firstly, I'm epileptic and purple is the colour that represents epileptics around the world. We think I've been epileptic since day dot. I started having seizures when I was less than a year old and they've progressively got worse over my life time. Most of the time epilepsy doesn't bother me at all. I just need to hippo on.
The second reason is a bit nerdy. During my company rebrand quest I got stuck for a colour. I kept going back to green because it's my favourite colour but it just didn't feel right. Something just didn't click.
Then I watched Alita: Battle Angel.
BOOM!
There it was, a sign from the universe.
Alita's fight colours are black, greys, and PURPLE.
I felt a connection with Alita, I won't spoil the film for you but let's just say against all odds, she comes out fighting. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The Logo
I've had my hippo inside my head for what seems like an eternity. She was itching to get out. I had a basic image drawn out and the designer came back to me with my absolute dream logo.
She was born.
I don't even mind telling you I cried. It was like all my birthdays had come at once. Al knew exactly what I wanted and within what felt like seconds, I had her on the screen in front of me. My inner animal was now ready to be shown to the world.
#BeMoreHippo
My hashtag is about being strong, knowing your worth and stomping out any obstacles put in front of you. Just like a hippo would.
It’s about knowing your limits and resting when it’s important too! A hippo does not run at 30km an hour for 16 hours a day! No, we do what we can then we relax and enjoy life.
